Hey guys!
Guess what I did today? Can you guess? Can ya? Can ya? Nope youre wrong. I made chocolate chip cookies. :) I got up early- 9.40 haha- and went to Rebeccas at 10. Rebecca is the other kiwi at work. We stick together because we are super cool. We had to go on a bit of a Walgreens mission because we wanted to make brownie and didnt have cocoa. Problem was they didnt sell cocoa. Last night on the bus we were talking to Brittany, one of the other girls, about our proposed baking mish and mentioned that we had to buy cocoa. She was like..."cocoa... I think my mum uses that sometimes..." As in she didnt even really know what it was. Noone here bakes at all by the sounds of things. So yeah. We went to Walgreens but they didnt have any cocoa so we resorted to making cookies. Which we didnt have any of the right stuff either. But we improvised a bit and eventually had some semblance of cookie dough-which tasted amazing btw, you so wreck the stuff by cooking it!!! Oh! We had to put in chocolate right, so we had a block of chocolate, broke it into squares and put those in. Mixed it all in and then realised hang on we should probably chop that chocolate up smaller. Sooo we had to pick out all the chocolate, cut it into smaller pieces and put it back in. It was awesome lol. Epic baking missions... Hey Kate, we didnt melt the butter!!! :P Yeah so we chucked them in the oven and over cooked them and they were kinda average. But hey it was exciting! Its so weird here, everyone acts sooo much younger than they actually are. I dont know why or what it is but somehow they just havent grown up yet lol. Well not everyone. But the vast majority. You know how in movies theres all the cliques and the cheerleaders and stuff? Its actually like that over here. I mean you get it a wee bit in New Zealand but it is soo much worse here! It was all good at work until the last couple of days but its started up now, a couple of girls deciding that they are too cool to talk to anyone else and you really just get the impression that they would stab you in the back if they got half a chance. Im reasonably safe, as is Rebecca because they love our accents so much, but we are going to have to be really careful about who we get close to. Im just hoping I manage to not get dragged into all the catty stuff, I really cant be bothered with that crap!!! Anyways enough ranting! Im still loving it here lol. Hope you guys are all fantastic!
